Volunteers Needed - Experience Cycle NC
Assist in Telling Our Story with Southern Hospitality
One of the most exciting and important things each person can do in life is to share their stories. Everyone has a story to tell, and being a worker, student, or community member of Caldwell County, is one of those stories worth sharing.
Sunday, September 29th, 2019 Caldwell County will have the pleasure of welcoming one-thousand Cycle NC riders into our community, as they will be making three stops here, that include: Happy Valley, Kings Creek, and Dudley Shoals. This is an amazing opportunity for our community to share our breath-taking views, cultural history, and southern hospitality!
Volunteers are needed at each stop and the first six volunteers will receive a free t-shirt. Please contact Community Information Specialist, Libby Killian, she affirmed, “This is not a race, these riders want to slow down and experience the beauty and history our county has to offer.”
This is why it is important to have volunteers who are proud and willing to share their love and stories of Caldwell County. “This gives us an opportunity to showcase things to do in our county and invite these 1,000 riders and their families to come back and experience Caldwell County’s finest and will make an economic impact on Caldwell.” Libby Killian, added.
The First Stop on this tour for Cycle NC will be in Happy Valley at the historic Patterson School Foundation. This stop will be providing snacks, drinks, biscuits, sculptures on display, and fiddle music. The second experience will be at Kings Creek Elementary, where the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) will be selling hot dogs and hamburgers. At this location, Charlie Carpenter will be performing live music. The final stop of the tour, in Caldwell County, will be at Sims’s BBQ in Dudley Shoals. Sim’s BBQ will be selling food and raising scholarship money in honor of Tyler Sims.
These three destinations throughout the cyclist’s journey in Caldwell County, with your help as a volunteer, will allow Cycle NC to encounter our county in a profound way and may even allow us to learn more for ourselves. From the Mountains to the Coast and along the North Carolina Scenic By-Way 268, Hwy 64 and 90 , will be an awesome experience for us all.
